Herts & Beds Advanced Motorists – Advance Rider Taster Day Success!
On Saturday the 11th of October the Herts & Beds Advanced Motorists hosted a fantastic Advance Rider Taster Day, and what a day it was! With every slot fully booked, riders of all ages and experience levels came together to sharpen their skills, share their passion for motorcycling, and discover what advanced riding is all about.
The day kicked off with a warm welcome and briefing from our team of dedicated IAM RoadSmart Observers, who shared insights into what makes advanced riding so rewarding — from improving safety and confidence to making every journey smoother and more enjoyable.
Each rider had the chance to head out on a one-to-one observed ride, accompanied by one of our experienced Observers. During these sessions, participants received personalised feedback, practical tips, and valuable advice on key aspects of advanced riding such as positioning, observation, cornering, and anticipation.
For many, it was an eye-opening experience — learning how small adjustments can make a big difference on the road. And for our returning members, it was a great opportunity to refresh their skills and enjoy a friendly day out with like-minded bikers.
Back at base, the atmosphere was buzzing. There was plenty of time to chat, share experiences, and ask questions about joining the IAM and taking the next step toward becoming an Advanced Rider.
