Would you like to be better rider? Or would you like some tips on any aspect of your riding?

Working with the Herts & Beds Advanced Motorcyclists (HBAM) who are part of the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) we are offering free advanced riding taster rides. 

Lasting for about about an hour, you will be assigned an Observer who will talk to you about what you would like to get out of the session, then the 2 of you will go out for a 25 minute ride, and afterwards you'll have chat around what you could do to improve your riding.

Do I need to attend the ride brief?

Yes. If you don't attend the ride brief (normally 15 mins before any event) then you will not be permitted to attend. The ride brief is important as it sets out the route and all of the requirements needed to take part.

What does 'Unsupported' mean

Unsupported means that there is no official support if anything happens during an event such as ride out. You are responsible for your vehicle, ensuring it is safe and legal to be on the ride.

What is 125 & Newbie?

Our 15 & Newbie ride outs are aimed that those who either only ride a 125cc motorbike - whether that is through licence restrictions or choice. Newbies are those who have passed their test allowing them to ride a larger capacity bike within the last 12 months of the event.

We include newbies in these ride outs so that we can help them learn about group riding.

Do I have to register

We prefer people to register as it helps us with logistics. Some events we don't mind if you just turn up - we'll do our best to accommodate. But people who register will always get preference over those who just turn up. Some events it is prerequisite to register i.e. Distinguished Gentleman's Ride.
