Unlike standard work trousers of the period, clothing designed for woodworking featured distinctive details such as large patch pockets and a dedicated folding ruler pocket, providing workers with easy access to their essential tools.

The name “Chopper” comes not from motorcycle culture, but from the phrase “to chop down a tree”, reflecting the trousers’ origins in traditional woodworking and forestry.

Authentic 1930s Workwear Construction

The 1936 Chopper Pant features the high waist and generous loose fit typical of period work trousers. Originally designed to work as overtrousers, this roomy construction provides excellent freedom of movement and comfortable everyday wear.

Large front and rear pockets provide plenty of practical storage, while the traditional ruler pocket on the thigh stays true to the trousers’ woodworking heritage. As a raw denim, the fabric will gradually soften and develop individual fading and character with regular wear, creating a pair of trousers that becomes increasingly unique over time.
