Pack It Like You Mean It – Motorcycle Touring Packing Guide

Planning a motorcycle tour? Before you load the bike, zip up your luggage and head for the ferry, download our Pack It Like You Mean It – the Veloce Club guide to packing for a motorcycle tour.

The Ultimate Motorcycle Touring Packing Guide*

*Well we think so (but we could be biased lol). Created from our own experience of organising and riding motorcycle tours across the UK and Europe, this practical 16-page digital guide will help you prepare properly, pack sensibly and avoid discovering that one essential item is still sitting at home.

Whether you’re preparing for your first European motorcycle tour, a weekend ride through the UK or a longer adventure abroad, our motorcycle packing guide gives you a clear, straightforward starting point – with plenty of Veloce Club personality along the way.

What’s inside the motorcycle packing guide?

The guide covers the riding kit, documents, tools and touring essentials we recommend considering before setting off, including:

• Essential documents for European motorcycle travel
• Motorcycle luggage advice and packing tips
• Waterproof clothing and wet-weather preparation
• Security, locks and motorcycle protection
• Navigation and travelling abroad
• Puncture repair and basic tool kits
• First aid and emergency information
• Useful spares and roadside essentials
• The little extras that can make a big difference
• A printable motorcycle touring checklist
• Final bike and luggage checks before departure

It also includes practical lessons we’ve picked up during our own motorcycle adventures – from why we don’t recommend riding with a heavy rucksack to where you should keep your spare keys.

A motorcycle touring checklist you’ll actually use

There are plenty of enormous motorcycle touring packing lists online. The problem is that many of them make it sound as though you need to take your entire garage with you.

Pack It Like You Mean It is designed to help you strike the right balance: prepared enough to deal with common problems, without overloading your motorcycle with things you’ll never use.

The guide finishes with a simple motorcycle tour checklist that you can work through before departure, covering your documentation, riding gear, motorcycle luggage, tools, security and personal essentials.

Perfect for your first European motorcycle tour

Riding a motorcycle in Europe is an incredible experience, but preparing for that first trip can feel daunting. What documents do you need? What should be easily accessible? Which tools are worth carrying? What happens if it rains?

Our European motorcycle touring guide helps take some of that uncertainty away so you can spend less time worrying about what you’ve forgotten and more time looking forward to the ride.

Planning your next motorcycle adventure?

Packing is only half the fun – you also need somewhere brilliant to ride.

The Veloce Club hosts motorcycle ride-outs, gatherings and organised tours, with adventures both close to home and across the Channel. Visit our motorcycle events calendar to see where we’re riding next, including upcoming Veloce Club tours and events.
