Merlin Borderlands Laminated Jacket

Part of the Merlin Explorer Collection, the Borderlands D3O® Jacket is a versatile, high-performance motorcycle jacket designed as an all-season touring and adventure solution. With an accompanying Borderlands trouser available, riders can create a complete motorcycle touring suit built for changing weather, long-distance journeys and everyday riding.

The lightweight yet durable Invista Tactel® laminated nylon outer shell offers excellent moisture-wicking performance and incorporates a 10k/10k waterproof and breathable rating. Inside, a removable 125g thermal lining with an overlapping front wind breaker provides extra warmth in colder conditions, while the fixed mesh lining helps improve breathability when temperatures rise.

Certified as a CE EN17092 Level AA garment, the Borderlands combines CE AA-rated safety with D3O® LP1 Tri-Vented shoulder and elbow impact protectors fitted as standard. Dedicated pockets also allow for the addition of a D3O® Viper Stealth back protector and D3O® CP1 chest armour for increased coverage.

Extensive ventilation makes the Borderlands adaptable for warmer rides, with twin chest vents, forearm air intakes and three-point rear ventilation helping air circulate through the jacket. The two mesh-lined chest pockets also double as ventilation points, while the collar can be folded and secured open for summer riding. A soft-touch neoprene collar and chin trim, combined with 3D air mesh, provide additional comfort around the neck.

For a more precise fit, the jacket features bicep, forearm and cuff adjustment, a precision-fit Velcro wrapping panel and an expanding hem. A two-point collar closure provides further adjustment, while the reflective rear panel helps improve rider visibility in lower-light conditions.

Practical storage includes two large zipped front cargo pockets and secure internal pockets within both the fixed and removable thermal linings. YKK® zips are used throughout for dependable performance.

For added security when riding, YKK® jacket-to-jean connecting zips and a Euro hoop elasticated connecting strap allow the Borderlands to be paired with compatible motorcycle trousers, including the accompanying Borderlands trouser.
